Château Marcel is a 19th-century mansion in the medieval wine-producing village of Cesseras in the Minervois area of the Hérault Departement of Occitania (formerly known as the Languedoc-Roussillon).
Chateau Marcel is centrally located for everything that Occitania has to offer, from sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches to the cool freshness of the Montagnes Noir forests, from the technical marvel of the famous Canal du Midi to the old Cathar fortresses and castles, from wine tasting in the countless ‘caves’ between the vineyards to the shopping centre and nightlife of cities such as Narbonne, Carcassonne or Béziers (with Toulouse and Montpellier just a bit further away). The voyage of discovery is endless. There’s also a wide range of possibilities for sports enthusiasts: cycling, hiking, golfing or sailing.
In the neigbouring village of Olonzac you will find the necessary shops to meet your daily needs.
The chateau itself consists of three autonomous apartments, each with 2 bedrooms (4 persons + possibly a child or extra adult by mutual agreement) and 2 studios (2 persons), converted into self-catering ‘gites’ for holiday rentals. The apartments and studios have been modernized with respect for the Original elements such as preservation of the authentic floors, walls and fireplaces. You will find all contemporary facilities such as wifi, internet, flat screen satellite, DVD player, CD player.
The kitchens are provided with the necessary comfort both in the apartments and the studios (dishwasher, fridge with freezer, coffee maker, toaster, kitchen utensils, microwave oven, gas cooker with oven in the apartments and a two-burner electric stove in the studios. All apartments are equipped with fans, both studios have airco.
The bathrooms all have a sink, a shower and a hairdryer. In the apartments there is a separate toilet room, in the studios the toilet is in the bathroom. Bath towels, tea towels and sheets are provided by the host and hostess. Sheets and towels are changed at your request (max. 1 time per week for the sheets).
On the ground floor there is a technical room where a washing machine is available for shared use. There are also 2 bicycles at your disposal.
There is an idyllic courtyard with a small swimming pool. Via the central corridor of Château Marcel one arrives at the south terrace.
Rene and Conny Withofs, a multilingual Belgian couple, realized their dream with the purchase of Château Marcel in 2018.
